Dr. Mike Gow is a Lecturer in International Business at the School of Strategy and Leadership at Coventry University. His research examines the role and mobilization of non-state sectors including higher education, media, entertainment, sport and consumer markets in contemporary state-building projects in the People's Republic of China. He holds a PhD in East Asian Studies from the University of Bristol's School of Sociology, Politics and International Studies.
He has previously held position Lecturer in Humanities and Social Sciences (2016-2018) at the XJTLU School of Film and Television Arts (formerly Department of English, Culture and Communication), and was Inaugural Global Postdoctoral Fellow at NYU Shanghai (2013-2015), the first Sino-American Joint Venture University established in the People's Republic of China.
Mike has held teaching positions at Fudan-Boston Program (Fudan University), Ecole Superieur Sciences Commercials des Angers (ESSCA) and the University of Huddersfield (Sino-British College)
